As the Green Bay Packers prepare for the upcoming NFL offseason, Brian Gutekunst will have quite a few decisions to ponder. Following a 13-3 regular season and a trip to the NFC Championship Game, the Packers feel like their championship window is open. Unfortunately, that comes with the added pressure of needing to make some moves to reach that goal.

It was a successful season, to say the least, under first-year NFL head coach Matt LaFleur. Taking over for Mike McCarthy wasn’t an easy task, but he managed to completely change the culture and outlook for this franchise.

Aaron Rodgers received criticism for showing age, but he still put up elite numbers. Aaron Jones broke out and is now viewed as one of the top rising stars at the running back position in the league. The defense took a step forward, but still had some consistency issues.

Speaking of the defense, the Packers will need to focus on beefing it up even more this offseason. Signing Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Adrian Amos was a huge step in the right direction last offseason. Green Bay now will have to upgrade the inside linebacker position.

Blake Martinez is set to hit free agency and the current belief is that the Packers will let him walk. If that is the case, they will have to find another inside linebacker capable of playing the role that Martinez did, but better.

Let’s take a look at one potential option for the Packers in free agency. That player would be Chicago Bears impending free agent linebacker Danny Trevathan.

  1. Any thoughts on a trade of Josh Jackson for Tampa Bays OJ Howard. Maybe good for both sides ??
