Of all the weapons Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had at his disposal throughout his career, he’s never had a difference maker at the tight end position.
The team tried to give Rodgers a play making tight end last offseason by bringing in veteran Jimmy Graham, but he failed to live up to expectations, having his worst season since his rookie campaign.
With backup tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan Jr. both set to become unrestricted free agents, along with Graham possibly getting cut due to his large cap hit, Green Bay will certainly be in the market for a fresh face at tight end this offseason.
One name to keep an eye for the Packers, is Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper.
Hooper’s coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons and has gotten significantly better every year. At just 25-years-old, Hooper will be a hot commodity once free agency rolls around, and Green Bay should one of his top bidders.
