Za’Darius Smith signed with the Green Bay Packers last offseason in free agency on a very lucrative deal. After showing flashes of his ability with the Baltimore Ravens, the Packers felt that a change of scenery to their system would help him unlock the superstar potential that they saw in him.
Looking back on his first season with Green Bay, the Packers ended up being 100 percent right.
In the 16 games he played in 2019 with the Packers, Smith racked up 55 total tackles to go along with 13.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He ranked No. 6 in the NFL in sacks, which is exactly what the doctor ordered for Green Bay. Their defense desperately needed more help in that area last offseason.
Green Bay is expecting very similar, if not bigger, things from Smith in 2020. He has absolutely put himself on the map when it comes to the top defensive players in the league. Mike Pettine and company should be very excited about the prospects for Smith this season.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three bold predictions for Za’Darius Smith in 2020 with the Packers.
