DaeSean Hamilton
It’s no secret that the Packers have a less than ideal situation at wide receiver right now. Even if Lazard pans out, he and Adams are the only wideouts on the roster that Rodgers can instill his trust in. Given that, finding someone that fits the mold of a slot wide receiver could be wise for the Packers.
In that case, DaeSean Hamilton should be someone that is on Green Bay’s radar. Hamilton was a fourth-round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft, but his role with the Broncos could be minimized due to Denver’s 2020 draft class. Throughout the 2020 NFL Draft, the Broncos added Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, and Tyrie Cleveland.
Seeing that Denver took Jeudy and Hamler in back-to-back rounds to begin the draft, at best, Hamilton is the No. 4 receiver on the depth chart. Therefore, he could become a trade piece for the Broncos before the upcoming season.
In his first two seasons, Hamilton has combined for 58 receptions, 540 yards, and three touchdowns. While he’s had an inconsistent role with the Broncos, his route running ability shouldn’t be ignored. After being able to create 1.71 yards of separation as a rookie (17th best in the NFL in 2018), Hamilton was able to produce 1.92 yards of separation in 2019 (eighth-best among WRs). Someone like Hamilton that can find ways to get himself open could be a godsend for Rodgers at this point in the offseason.
