Kenny Stills
Of all of the options available to them, it seems like Kenny Stills is the most popular choice as the player the Packers should trade for — and for good reason. At this point in the offseason, Green Bay isn’t going to have much to choose from. They could go the free agency route and sign someone like Taylor Gabriel.
Or they could make an offer for Stills and hope they can the speedy pass-catcher to their receiving corps before the upcoming season begins. Ahead of the 2019 season, Stills was traded to the Houston Texans as part of the trade that sent Laremy Tunsil to Houston as well. Little did the Texans know that Stills would become a reliable option for Deshaun Watson in the process.
In his first season with the Texans, Stills hauled in 40 receptions for 561 yards and four touchdowns despite sharing the field with DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and KeKe Coutee. Stills also showed that he can be trusted, notching a 121.8 quarterback rating when targeted in 2019 (seventh-best among WRs). But even with Hopkins gone, Houston still has Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb, Fuller, and Coutee crowding the wide receiver group. With Stills entering the final year of his contract, he could be an expendable piece for the Texans.
And seeing what the Texans accepted in a trade for Hopkins, Stills could likely be had for the right price. Adding a vertical threat like Stills, who’s averaged 15.7 yards per reception in his career, would be a home-run move for the Packers in 2020.
