3. Darnell Savage
Darnell Savage showed great promise during his rookie season. The Maryland product finished with two interceptions and 55 tackles in his first season. Entering the 2020 season, Savage will establish himself as a top safety in the league or just another average defender. Savage has a chance to be one of the best.
In 2020, Savage will have a lot to prove. He will have eyes on him to see what improvements were made. Savage had trouble tackling. He took bad routes to ball carriers which caused plenty of missed tackles. Also, it will be interesting to see what role he plays in Mike Pettine’s offense. He could roam as the free safety or play some snaps at slot corner. This is something he did throughout his collegiate career.
Savage has great star power, not to mention an incredible football name. He is a player that can be a big name in this secondary for many years in the future. In camp, Savage will have to show of his improvements and prove that he can reach his ceiling very soon.
