Round 1, Pick 30: Denzel Mims, Wide Receiver, Baylor
To start things off in the first round, the Packers go with a big-time target for Aaron Rodgers. The signing of Devin Funchess is a solid addition, but it doesn’t really move the needle for the offense. Adding a playmaker like Denzel Mims would be a needle moving pick.
Mims put together a huge performance at the NFL Draft Combine and has been rising up draft boards. He put up great production in 2019 at Baylor, catching 66 passes for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The fact that Green Bay didn’t target a big-time wideout in free agency signals that they will likely go with one early in the draft. They could wait until the second round, but Mims will be too attractive of an option to pass up.
Rodgers and the Packers will see their offense take a huge step forward with Mims and Funchess being added to the wide receiver depth chart.
