Packers: 5 must-win games on Green Bay’s schedule in 2020

Te Green Bay Packers were projected to have a mediocre start to the 2019 season under rookie head coach Matt Lafleur. They proved the doubters wrong and went above and beyond. Green Bay ended up not only shooting past their projections, they won plenty of ‘must win’ games and managed to advance as close as it gets to earning a Super Bowl appearance.

There is plenty of reason for optimism for Green Bay in 2020. They are considered a top tier NFL team again that has most of their starters returning for 2020.  There is the leaders of old such as Aaron Rodgers and new leaders like the 2019 additions of Za’darius Smith, Preston Smith, and Adrian Amos.

Those leaders combined with Matt Lafleur’s second season of coaching should be a great combination. His performance during the upcoming season is an important one because he gets to implement phase two of not just his offense, but helping Green Bay build on their identity going into the 2020 season.

LaFleur is known as a players coach and connects with each of his players. Whether its diving into the playbook or giving them the week off of practice, he makes sure his team gets what they need. That connection individually to each player leads to a connection as a team not just physically but mentally as well. That is what made this team so tough to beat in 2019 in must win games. They win by any means necessary.

Taking that into consideration, there are five games that stand out as must-win games for the Packers to maximize their chances of making the playoffs in the stacked NFC.
