This Packers-Broncos Trade Sends Jerry Jeudy To Green Bay

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was one of the only bright spots on the Denver Broncos offense in 2022. There wasn’t much to get excited about on that side of the ball last season as Russell Wilson looked like a shell of the player he was with the Seattle Seahawks. Nathaniel Hackett was fired after one season as a result, with Sean Payton being tabbed as the new head coach.

Payton was able to produce some high-flying offenses during his time as head coach of the New Orleans Saints. The Broncos are certainly hopeful that he can do the same in The Mile High City and get Wilson back on track.

Having a wide receiver like Jerry Jeudy in the fold will certainly make that easier. The 2020 first-round pick is coming off the best season of his young career despite missing two games and leaving another one very early on, while the offense was a disaster.

Jerry Jeudy caught 67 passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns. After sitting out Weeks 11 and 12 because of injury, Jerry Jeudy returned to the lineup and took over the No. 1 spot in the passing offense. Over the final six weeks of the season, he caught 37 passes for 523 yards and three touchdowns.

While there have been some debates about whether or not Jerry Jeudy can be a true No. 1 receiver, that stretch of games certainly gives the impression that he can. Payton likely has some big plans for him in 2023, as his fourth season in the NFL could be his true breakout campaign.

However, there are still some people that believe Jerry Jeudy could ultimately be traded by the team. He was a very popular name in trade rumors ahead of the deadline last season, but no deal was reached. Those talks could very well be revisited this offseason.

If that is the case, the market for Jerry Jeudy should be robust. One team that could show some interest is the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay’s most important thing to figure out is who will be under center for the team in 2023. Regardless of whether it is Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love, this is an offense that could use some more weaponry.

Jerry Jeudy would be a nice addition, giving the Packers three young wide receivers to build their offense around. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs both showed flashes as rookies, but bringing in someone with a little more experience and a No. 1 skill set would benefit both of them.

What would it cost to land Jerry Jeudy? The price likely isn’t cheap given his combination of age and skill set. The Packers can offer a second and fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and see if that is enough to get a deal done.

Jerry Jeudy is an elite route runner with a full route tree, capable of winning at every level of the field. Prying him away from Denver certainly won’t be easy, but he would be a great fit in Green Bay as they could lose Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb this offseason after losing Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling last year.
