The Green Bay Packers are entering a brand new era of football this offseason. After trading away superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, they are handing the keys of the franchise over to Jordan Love. It’s a move that has brought excitement to the franchise, but the change has also made quite a few fans very nervous.

For years, the Packers have become accustomed to being at the top of the NFL Power Rankings to begin every season. They have been viewed as legitimate Super Bowl contenders. That simply is not the case this season.

Instead, the team has been viewed as a rebuilding franchise. The players are adamant that the Packers are not rebuilding in any way and will remain very competitive in the NFC. Only time will tell what actually ends up happening.

Love seems to think that he is more than ready to play and replace Rodgers under center. He has been very vocal about how much he appreciated Rodgers, but now has also spoken out about one advantage he has over the longtime Packers’ quarterback.

“I think it’s also easier from a younger guy,” Love said. “I think they can relate a little bit better to me, but I try and be open with all these guys — talk to them and just let them know if there’s anything they need, ask me. I’m an open book. I try to let everybody know I’m an open book. Come ask me, come talk to me. I’m trying to build that chemistry with all of them.”

His teammate have also talked about how good things have been with Love. They feel more comfortable approaching him and also seem to be built up by him when mistakes happen.

Over the years, Rodgers has had no patience when a young wide receiver would make a mistake. He would chew them out and show obvious outward frustration. With a completely young corps of targets, Love has taken an opposite approach.

When the season actually begins, Jordan Love will still be a strong voice of leadership. But, his leadership style appears to be much different than Aaron Rodgers’. That seems to have brought a breath of fresh air to Green Bay.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the 2023 season has in store for Love and the Packers. The media will be watching closely and hopefully the young quarterback will rise the occasion.
