Packers Named Top Fit For Will Fuller Late In NFL Offseason

The Green Bay Packers’ offense will always be productive as long as Aaron Rodgers is under center. After working out a contract extension earlier this offseason, Rodgers should spend the rest of his career with the franchise. However, he is going to have to build chemistry with some new pass catchers this offseason.

The Packers lost a lot of talent at the wide receiver position, as Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. To make matters tougher, Marquez Valdes-Scantling also departed, signing a free agent deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Replacing that much production is never easy, but Green Bay brought in a lot of players to try and compensate for it. Sammy Watkins was signed in free agency, while two players, Christian Watson in the second round and Romeo Doubs in the fourth round, were selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.

They will be joining holdovers Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Amari Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers has worked some magic before, but this could be the most challenging yet from a talent standpoint with who he has to work with.

Luckily for Green Bay, they have what looks to be an elite defense to rely on. They also possess a strong running game spearheaded by Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. But, they are going to have to find success through the air as well and could use a little more talent.

If they head into free agency again, especially with Watkins already landing on the non-football injury list once this offseason. One player that could be of help to the Packers is Will Fuller.

Fuller played in only two games with the Miami Dolphins last season and has some serious injury concerns of his own. However, when on the field, he is an elite deep ball target that has a full route tree.

His field-stretching ability would be a great fit for the offense with Valdes-Scantling no longer in the picture. The former Notre Dame product needs a change of scenery and there aren’t many better situations to land in than catching passes from Rodgers. While he is happy with the group that he has to work with, they could certainly use an infusion of talent that Fuller can provide.

It will take time to develop a rapport with the younger players such as Watson, Doubs and Rodgers, so bringing in another veteran such as Fuller would provide the team with some added insurance.
