Now that the 2022 NFL draft has come and gone there are questions about which veterans will now sign with new teams. If bigger-name veterans do not sign within the first couple of weeks of free agency, it may be best to wait until after the NFL draft to look for which teams have bigger needs at other positions. One team to keep an eye on at this stage of free agency is the Green Bay Packers.

It also takes away the risk of your spot being taken by a rookie. You can already see who the rookies are and if there would be one lurking. With the NFL draft in the rearview mirror, one site is suggesting the Packers sign Julio Jones.

The Green Bay Packers did not get a first-round wide receiver, a yearly tradition that has become a joke amongst Green Bay fans. Still, they did trade up for Christian Watson and took him very shortly after the first round concluded.

Still, in all actuality, Watson was drafted and projects to be a Marquez Valdes-Scantling replacement. If they thought he was Davnate Adams, they would not have passed on him twice. They knew that Valdes-Scantling is important to replace as well, and with Watson being younger and cheaper it makes sense.

Still, they really did little else outside of the roster to replace Davante Adams. The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill then signed two wideouts and drafted one in round two. The Packers just drafted one. This means that they should be in th market to sign one.

Julio Jones has to see all of the targets that Adams got and knows that the rookie from North Dakota State is not eating all of those up. From there, he is competing with Alan Lazard to be the man. Jones needs to revive his career, and being a top target hog for Aaron Rodgers would boost his reputation back up.

Expect rumors of Julio Jones to the Green Bay Packers to continue to get hot as the season gets closer. It would make sense for both parties.
