3. Brycen Hopkins, Tight End, Purdue
That’s right, the Packers could turn to the 2020 NFL Draft to look for a new tight end. There are a couple of great options in Notre Dame’s Cole Kmet and Purdue’s Brycen Hopkins. Green Bay may be able to get Hopkins without spending their first-round pick on him, which is why he makes better sense.
In 2019 with the Boilermakers, Hopkins ended up 61 passes for 830 yards and seven touchdowns. He is a lethal threat at tight end and would work well in Matt LaFleur’s offensive system with Aaron Rodgers.
Standing in at 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, Hopkins has great size and athleticism. It may take him a few years to develop into his full potential, but he would be able to play an immediate role should Green Bay bring him in.
