The Green Bay Packers had arguably the biggest steal of the 2021 offseason when they signed linebacker De’Vondre Campbell to a one-year, $2 million deal. He was a solid player with the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals the first five seasons of his career, but he truly broke out with the Packers in 2021.

Campbell was a near every-down player in Green Bay, playing 97 percent of the snaps. He had played at least 79 percent of the snaps in every healthy season he had, so the playing time wasn’t anything new. The production, however, came out of nowhere.

The Minnesota product put together an all-pro season for the Packers, proving to be a perfect three-down linebacker in their scheme. He totaled 146 combined tackles, adding six tackles for loss and six quarterback hits. Campbell rounded out his stat line with two sacks, two interceptions, five passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

It was an outstanding season for Campbell, who is likely looking at a hefty payday in free agency. Given the salary cap issues that Green Bay is facing, many presumed that he would move on to another team in the coming weeks.

However, over at Sportsnaut, they believe that Campbell will be staying put. They made predictions for where 50 free agents would land and they predicted that Campbell will re-sign with the Packers.

Given the news that Aaron Rodgers is going to be staying in town, it makes sense that the front office would go all out to try and reload the roster for another run at the Super Bowl. They have won 13 games in the regular season for three straight seasons, so reloading and contending as long as Rodgers is under center makes the most sense.

Knowing how perfect of a fit he was in their defense and that he wants to come back, there can be some common ground found in negotiations. If both sides want a reunion as much as it seems that they do, a deal will get reached.
