Packers Receive Brutal Injury Update On Stud Rookie Tight End

This is the first time in decades that the Green Bay Packers had virtually no shot at making the playoffs before a season even began. They currently have a 4-6 record, and although they’re just 1.5 games behind the seventh-place Minnesota Vikings, their chances of reaching the postseason are slim and none.

The year has devolved into the organization evaluating a number of young players and deciding who to keep and invest in and who to jettison. New starting quarterback Jordan Love, at least right now, doesn’t look worthy of being the successor to future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

Rookie tight end Luke Musgrave may be a keeper. He has 33 catches for 341 receiving yards through 10 games, and he’s on the verge of breaking the franchise record for most receptions and receiving yards by a rookie tight end, which is currently held by Bubba Franks.

However, he is dealing with an abdomen injury that put him in the hospital. While he’s out of the hospital now, head coach Matt LaFleur admitted that it is “a pretty significant injury.”

NFL News & Updates: Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers Updates

It is unclear how much time Musgrave will have to miss, but this isn’t good news for a team that is already banged up.

Stud running back Aaron Jones, one of the few players Green Bay has who is close to a legitimate weapon, has a sprained MCL, and while he may not miss a ton of time, he has reportedly been listed as week-to-week and is unlikely to play on Thanksgiving Day when the team heads east across Lake Michigan to face the Detroit Lions.

Musgrave’s injury could be an opportunity for some other young tight ends, including rookies Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims, to step up and prove they can play.
