As the Green Bay Packers prepare to take on the Tennessee Titans tonight in a very clear must-win game at Lambeau Field, there are major injury issues that will hamper their chances of a win. Among those injury issues are Rashan Gary, Romeo Doubs, Eric Stokes, and Randall Cobb. Thankfully, they received some huge injury news just before game time.
According to a report from Ari Meirov on Twitter, the Packers have activated wide receiver Randall Cobb from IR and he will be available to play against the Titans.
Cobb has been an integral part of the Packers’ offense this season when healthy. He was clearly Aaron Rodgers’ go-to target in clutch situations. Having him back on the field will be a huge boost for the Green Bay offense.
Last week, the Packers saw rookie wide receiver Christian Watson break out with a massive three-touchdown performance. If Watson can keep playing at a high level and Cobb can come in and make an impact, the offense could begin looking much better immediately.
So far this season, Cobb has played in six games. He has caught 18 passes for 257 yards, but has not scored a touchdown yet. Early in the year, he was simply utilized as a weapon when Rodgers needed someone to trust the most, mainly on third-down opportunities.
With all of that being said, this is huge news for the Packers. They absolutely have to take care of business tonight against the Titans. If they win, they are back in the conversation in the NFC, but if they lose, they are likely out of playoff talks. Hopefully, Cobb can come through with a big game in his return to action.
