Green Bay Packers: Studs and Duds from the First Preseason Game

Packers Wire – USA Today

Stud: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling

MVS, as he has been so adeptly named by Packers fans, joined an incredibly competitive wide receiver room coming into training camp. The upside is there, but Valdes-Scantling has a lot of fundamental work to do to become a prominent NFL wide receiver. But, boy did his star shine bright on Thursday.

There were times where it seemed like nobody could cover the rookie receiver out of South Florida. His 4.37 40-yard dash time was on full display as he blazed by defenders on go routes.

MVS still has a long way to go become a relevant member of this offense that features a lot of talented playmakers. However, with continued performances like the one we saw on Thursday night, he is well on his way.
