Green Bay Packers: Studs and Duds from the First Preseason Game

Packers Wire – USA Today

Dud: OL Byron Bell

The Packers brought in Bell as a depth fill late into the off-season. But, it is very possible he could already be on his way out.

Some of the plays that Bell gave up on Thursday were not even NFL roster worthy. According to Pro Football Focus, Bell gave up six pressures in just a half of football. Folks, that’s not good.

Bell has been known to be able to play both tackle and both guard positions, thus vouching for his value to any team. However, it seems as though he can no longer effectively play tackle at an NFL level. Bell might be best suited to move inside and play guard if he wants to continue his NFL career.

It’s a long preseason, but Bell definitely has an uphill battle at this point if he hopes to make this 53-man roster come September 1.
