The Green Bay Packers are set to play one of their toughest games of the season in Week 3 on Sunday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, there is a chance that they may have to play the game without star wide receiver Davante Adams.
With just a few days left to decide his status, Adams gave an update on how he’s feeling and his thoughts on his status for Week 3.
Adams has proven himself to be one of the elite wide receivers in the game. In Week 1 for the Packers, he put together a massive 14-catch, 156-yard, and two touchdown performance against the division rival Minnesota Vikings.
Against the Detroit Lions last week, Adams caught just three passes for 36 yards before the hamstring injury put him out of the game.
Going up against Drew Brees and the Saints is never an easy task. The Packers are going to need their star wide receiver out on the field. Aaron Rodgers needs him to be on the field.
Coming back from a hamstring injury is one of the toughest things for a wide receiver to do. For example, Adam Thielen struggled to return from a hamstring injury last year. He kept trying to come back, but would go down with a re-injury.
It will be interesting see what the verdict for Davante Adams ends up being this week. New Orleans is also awaiting word on whether or not their superstar wide receiver, Michael Thomas, will end up being with an ankle injury.
Expect to hear more news on Adams in the next day or two. The Packers know they need him, but they will not force him to play unless he is 100 percent ready.
