Panthers: 3 numbers for Teddy Bridgewater to target in 2020

Teddy Bridgewater was one of the most talked about names entering NFL free agency as plenty of teams around the league looked for a change at the quarterback position. One of those teams was the Carolina Panthers, who ended up releasing Cam Newton and signing Bridgewater.

Last season with the New Orleans Saints, Bridgewater finally had the opportunity to prove that he deserved another starting opportunity. When Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury, Bridgewater took the chance to shine.

In the five games that Bridgewater started in 2019, he led the team to five wins. On the season, he completed 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 1,384 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. Those numbers were more than respectable.

Looking ahead to his first year as the starter in Carolina, the Panthers are going to need Bridgewater to step up. They are looking to make a playoff push in a crowded NFC.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three numbers that Bridgewater should target for the Panthers in 2020.
