Patriots: 3 late free agents New England should consider targeting

The New England Patriots may have lost Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency, but they should remain competitive in 2020. They should look to add another veteran into the mix to help maximize their ability to contend.

The current expected outcome for the AFC East heading into the upcoming season is the Buffalo Bills are favorites to win it. The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets may be improved from what they were a season ago, but likely won’t be on the same level as the Bills or even the Patriots.

There has been some intriguing names linked to the Patriots in speculation at times this offseason but those have yet to translate to a signing. There is no need to rush considering there is still plenty of time before the upcoming season, but it may be something to watch, nevertheless.

It wouldn’t be easy to add another talent to the roster for the Patriots considering they currently have the least amount of salary cap space in the NFL. They do have just enough to be able to sign a player to a ‘prove-it’ deal if they were willing to make near the NFL’s minimum salary.

With that being said, here are three late free agents the New England Patriots should consider targeting.
