New England Patriots: 3 Takeaways from Week 1 Win over Houston Texans

The New England Patriots started the 2018 season with an impressive 27-20 Week 1 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon.

The team looked sharp, jumping out to a 21-6 halftime lead and held off a second-half Texans surge.

As with any game, there are positives and negatives to take away from the Patriots’ victory. The offense looked in mid-season form on certain drives and awful on others. The defense limited the Texans passing attack to 176 yards but allowed Houston to gain 167 yards on the ground.

The Texans outscored the Patriots 14-6 in the second half. They also had a chance to win the game multiple times in the final four minutes. The New England defense held strong and quarterback Tom Brady made just enough plays to hold off Houston in the end.

With all of that being said, what three things can be taken away from the Patriots’ Week 1 victory over the Texans?
