Patriots: 3 wide receivers New England should target in a trade

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are back in business when it comes to their chances to contend in the AFC this season. After signing Cam Newton to an incentive-laden one-year contract, many think the Patriots will once again be a force to be reckoned with.

This is the first time there has been a ton of optimism surrounding the Patriots since they lost Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency. Once again, Belichick has turned a negative into a potential positive.

With Newton now on the roster, the Patriots have a possible weakness at the wide receiver position. Julian Edelman is still on the roster and New England has both N’Keal Harry and Mohamed Sanu as well. However, those three guys are not the most dynamic wideouts in the game.

If the Patriots want to add some much-needed firepower to their roster, they may need to turn to the trade market. Some believe Josh Gordon could be brought back, but there are a few trade options should New England want to take a look at them.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three wide receivers the Patriots should consider targeting in a trade.
