Quarterback: Cam Newton

While it may start off as a competition, Cam Newton comes with an MVP sized head start. When he is fully healthy, Cam is one of the best QB’s in the NFL. After a full offseason of rest, he returns at full strength and hungrier then ever.

A motivated and disrespected Newton will be scary for opposing defenses. Partner him with two offensive masterminds, Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels, and it might be game over for many opponents.

Coach Belichick has always been a huge fan of Newton. Before a game against the Carolina Panthers in 2017, Belichick had this to say about Cam at a press conference

I think when you talk about mobile quarterbacks, guys that are tough to handle, tackle, can throw, run, make good decisions, can beat you in a lot of — I would put Newton at the top of the list.

Thats high praise coming from one of the games best. This isn’t saying Jarrett Stidham doesn’t have a future in New England. Newton signed a one year deal. If he plays as well as the Patriots hope, he may head elsewhere at the end of the season. Only time will tell what the future of the quarterback position is in New England. However, the present is going to be Cam Newton.
