The New England Patriots are a team to keep an eye on each and every offseason. With Bill Belichick leading the way, the franchise has always looked to make aggressive moves to bolster their Super Bowl chances. This offseason, a potential big-time move to watch in free agency is connected to wide receiver Allen Robinson.

With a young quarterback in Mac Jones, the Patriots are looking to build a more high-powered offense around him. Adding a talent like Robinson would certainly be the kind of move to make.

According to a league source, the Patriots are “seriously” pursuing Robinson in free agency. There are a lot of other interested teams, but New England is one to watch closely. Belichick and company have a way of winning when they lock in on a certain player.

During the 2021 season with the Chicago Bears, Robinson’s numbers took a major dip. He caught just 38 passes for 410 yards and a touchdown. However, no one thinks he washed up and the interest he is receiving around the league has been large.

Back in the 2020 season, Robinson hauled in 102 receptions for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns. Robinson has always had an uphill battle in Chicago, whether it be due to the quarterback situation or coaching issues. A change of scenery could be all he needs to break back out.

Heading to an offense like the Patriots would be a perfect situation for Allen Robinson. He would immediately become the team’s No. 1 wide receiver and Jones would have a new favorite target. The situation alone would help Robinson get his career back on track after a down season.

At 28 years of age, Robinson will be looking for a big contract and the best situation he can find. The Patriots can offer both of those things. New England should absolutely be viewed as a favorite to land the star wideout.

Expect to continue hearing more rumors about teams having interest in Robinson. The Patriots are not alone and will need to be aggressive to close a deal. Make sure to keep an eye on the situation in the coming hours and days.
