Perfect fits for Washington QB Jacob Eason in the 2020 NFL Draft

Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The final team that would make the most of Jacob Eason is the New Orleans Saints. Taysom Hill is not a franchise quarterback and the Saints have to be prepared for Drew Brees’ upcoming departure.

Hill is exciting to watch in his role for the Saints, but it would be a massive jump to see him take over starting responsibilities. The unique gadget player for the Saints has only thrown 13 passes in his two years with the Saints. The Saints have to prepare a better contingency plan than gambling everything on this move.

Jacob Eason is a safe pickup for the Saints who could eventually pay off. Eason would get to learn from one of the best coaches in the league in Sean Payton and could absorb everything possible from Drew Brees.

When Brees finally announces retirement, the Saints can reevaluate their quarterback room. Taysom Hill may take the next steps towards becoming a franchise quarterback even if it is a long shot. If that is not what happens, the Saints would still have a developed Eason to lead their franchise.
