Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Reasons They’ll Repeat as Super Bowl Champs

Doug Pederson

Off the field, they say head coach Doug Pederson is as calm and collected as they come. On the field, directing his team and calling plays, he’s as aggressive as they come.

In 2017, the Eagles led the NFL in fourth-down conversions with 17. No team has gone for it more than the Eagles in Pederson’s two years in charge. And the players love it. To not play so conservative certainly pays dividends. Even wins you championships.

“It’s not on a whim,” Pederson said.” “It’s not just gut feel. For me, it was trusting my players, my coaches.”

“So when you see Nick Foles come to the sideline and suggest ‘Philly Philly,’ there’s no hesitation. That’s the play. That’s the one we need.”

And it certainly is the type of mentality a city like Philadelphia embraces. He’s tough, he’s aggressive, he’s thorough. And he has the Eagles flying high.

So long as he is in charge, calling plays, going for it on fourth down, the Eagles will continue to soar.

I guess you can call him their own “Philly Special.” Whatever you decide to call it, he’ll be on of the main reasons the Eagles should be able to repeat as Super Bowl Champs in 2018.
