The Philadelphia Eagles may have snapped their three-game losing streak by beating the New York Giants on Christmas Day, but wide receiver DeVonta Smith was not happy with his team’s effort.

Speaking after the game, Smith expressed his displeasure with how the Eagles have been playing in spite of the fact that they picked up their 11th win of the season.

“Eleven wins?” Smith said, via Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “We’re not playing good football right now. As an offense, we’re not where we want to be. I’m not satisfied. Yeah, we got 11 wins. I’m not happy. It needs to be better for what I want to do, what everybody else in here wants to do, what we want to be. We’re nowhere near that so no I’m not happy.”

Smith logged four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Philadelphia appeared as if it was going to cruise to a victory, as it jumped out to a 20-3 lead over the Giants at halftime. However, New York proceeded to score 15 unanswered points in the third quarter to close to within 20-18.

The Eagles would then reel off 10 straight points of their own to take a 12-point edge in the fourth quarter, only to see the Giants draw back to within five. After Philly kicked a field goal to go back up by eight, it would finish the game by intercepting Tyrod Taylor in the end zone.

Clearly, Smith feels his club should have taken care of business more easily against a New York squad that dropped to just 5-10 with the loss.

Playing tight games against obviously inferior opponents has been a running theme for the Eagles this year, and Smith is apparently worried that it will come back to bite them in the playoffs.

The fact that Philadelphia just went through a three-game skid is evidence of the fact that the team’s struggles on both sides of the ball are a bit of an issue.

On the season overall, DeVonta Smith has hauled in 78 receptions for 1,036 yards and seven scores.

The Eagles will take on the Arizona Cardinals next weekend before battling the Giants on the road to wrap up the regular season.
