Eagles Named Potential Fit For This WR Free Agent Steal

The Philadelphia Eagles do not have a pressing need at wide receiver, as A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith comprise one of the best receiving duos in football.

However, the Eagles do not have much depth behind those two guys, so they could very well be in the market for a No. 3 receiver this offseason.

Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon sees Houston Texans wide out Noah Brown as a potential steal for Philadelphia in free agency.

Brown spent this past season with the Houston Texans serving as the club’s tertiary option behind Nico Collins and Tank Dell. Injuries limited him to just 10 games, but when he was on the field, he was productive, catching 33 passes for 567 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Brown barely saw any action over his first five seasons, as he amassed a grand total of 39 catches between 2017 and 2021.

However, in 2022, Brown’s role grew significantly, as he appeared in 16 contests and hauled in 43 receptions for 555 yards and three scores.

That marked his final season with the Cowboys, and that spring, he signed with the Texans.

While Brown does not have an extensive track record, he has proven over the last couple of seasons that he can certainly play, and at the very least, he could be a No. 3 receiver on a contender.

The Eagles can offer him that spot, and given the fact that Philadelphia does not have a ton of cap space to work with (about $27 million), it may behoove the front office to find a bargain pass-catcher like Brown.

All of that being said, Brown will surely generate interest from plenty of teams in the coming weeks, and he may end up valuing playing time over winning. If that ends up being the case, Philly may not be the best option.
