JuJu Smith-Schuster, Wide Receiver
Antonio Brown is the Pittsburgh wide receiver who gets the most attention, but he isn’t the only talented pass catcher on the Steelers’ roster. Second-year receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is another standout pass catcher for the Steelers.
Schuster caught 58 passes for 917 yards and seven scores during his rookie season. But he has looked even better in 2018, surpassing Brown as the Steelers’ leading receiver over the first three weeks.
The 21-year-old wideout has 27 catches for 356 yards and a TD this season. Nine of those receptions came on Monday night as he led the Steelers with 116 receiving yards.
Tight end Vance McDonald also deserves a shout-out after hauling in four passes for 112 yards against the Buccaneers. One of those catches was a 75-yard TD grab that got the Steelers on the board with 5:48 remaining in the first quarter.
As of right now, Brown is still the top receiver on the Steelers’ roster. But he’s got some stiff competition from Schuster, who seems poised for a breakout sophomore season.
