Pittsburgh Steelers Could Look To Trade These Three Players

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 3-2 and are very much alive in the AFC North. As a matter of fact, they are just a half-game back of the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the division and are tied in the loss column.

For that reason, the Steelers—who were not expected to be contenders going into 2023—will almost certainly not be going into selling mode heading into the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline. That is, of course, assuming that things don’t go completely haywire over their next two games.

Still, that does not mean Pittsburgh won’t be active in trade talks.

Parker Abate of Steelers Nation recently listed three players the Steelers could potentially move over the next couple of weeks: backup quarterback Mason Rudolph, wide receiver Gunner Olszewski and offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor.

None of these guys are earth-shaking talents. Rudolph is probably more known for his on-field tiff with Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett a couple of years ago than anything else, Olszewski has been a non-factor since signing with the club in free agency in 2022 and Okorafor has actually been a somewhat of a disappointment throughout his six-year tenure in Pittsburgh.

However, perhaps a change of scenery would do these players some good, and it’s not like they are without value. Rudolph is at least serviceable as a backup, Olszewski was a great special teamer for the New England Patriots and Okorafor could at least be a valuable depth piece.

Outside of running back Najee Harris, the Steelers don’t have a whole lot of guys they could realistically move for significant value at the deadline (and Pittsburgh probably won’t be moving Harris).

What should be more interesting to monitor is whether or not the Steelers will be attempting to make any big trades as buyers.

Pittsburgh is coming off of a Week 6 bye and will take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
