Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick has missed the last three games due to a knee injury, but he will be available when his team battles the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Fitzpatrick has told reporters that he will take the field against the Bills this Sunday, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

He added that he probably could have played in the Steelers’ regular-season finale against the Baltimore Ravens, but Pittsburgh chose to rest him to make sure he was fully healed.

Injuries limited Fitzpatrick to just 11 games this season, and during his time on the gridiron, he registered 64 tackles and three passes defended. In spite of all of the time he was sidelined, he still managed to earn a Pro Bowl selection.

Fitzpatrick, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 11th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He played in every game during his rookie campaign, recording 80 tackles, a couple of interceptions, nine passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The following season, the Dolphins traded Fitzpatrick to the Steelers after just two games. He went on to break out in Pittsburgh, making his first Pro Bowl and notching First-Team All-Pro honors after finishing with 69 tackles, five picks, a pair of forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, nine passes defended and a defensive score.

Overall, Fitzpatrick has made four trips to the Pro Bowl while earning three First-Team All-Pro selections. Last year, the 27-year-old led the league with six interceptions.

Minkah Fitzpatrick and the Steelers went 9-8 this season, snaring the final Wild Card spot in the AFC.
