Steelers Trade For Buccaneers’ Mike Evans In Blockbuster Proposal

Mike Evans, Steelers, Buccaneers
NFL Analysis Network

After a tough loss to start the season, could trading for a great wide receiver help the Pittsburgh Steelers? Perhaps a move for Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ superstar Mike Evans could be in the cards.

The Steelers suffered a tough loss to start the 2023 NFL season, as they were dismantled by the San Francisco 49ers. The 30-7 loss at home was not how the Steelers wanted to start the season, but the 49ers are a good team and there was a lot of bad football around the NFL in Week 1.

Even though the loss didn’t feel good, the Steelers still believe in their team and they have one of the best coaches in the NFL to help them bounce back in Mike Tomlin.

For the Steelers, their main objective this season is to set up their second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett for success. Pickett had a great college career and has shown some early glimpses of being able to be a good NFL quarterback. One of the things that make things easier for a quarterback to grow and develop is a great wide receiver.

Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about the Steelers going after Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who is someone who has certainly been a great wide receiver. With Evans being a very talented receiver, the cost to get him could be steep for the Steelers.

Our Trade Idea:

Steelers Receive: Mike Evans

Buccaneers Receive: 2024 First-Round Pick, 2024 Fourth-Round Pick

With Diontae Johnson out for at least a few weeks it appears, the Steelers all of a sudden might be lacking at the wide receiver position. While the Steelers could be interested in getting a star wide receiver, the Buccaneers might not be ready to deal.

After Tom Brady retired, it was thought that the Buccaneers could be sellers this season. However, they were able to defeat the Minnesota Vikings in the first week of the season, and in a weak division, they might have a chance to compete for a division title.

As the season goes on and we get some more clarity on who is a contender this season, a player name to certainly watch will be Evans.
