What To Expect From Aaron Jones In 2020
If the Packers want to take the next step and win the NFC, they are going to need their star running back to take another step forward. He has even more potential than he showed last season. Jones is just 25 years old with plenty of room to grow.
Granted, Jones is likely looking at receiving a similar amount or fewer touches. The Packers went out and brought in A.J. Dillon in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
With Jamaal Williams and Dillon behind him on the roster, Matt LaFleur could look to take some of the workload off of Jones. However, the Packers will need Jones’ ability as a receiver with the lack of wide receiver depth.
Obviously, the 16 rushing touchdowns that Jones put up last season were impressive. Many would say that he produced over what he was capable of and was a product of the system. Jones, on the other hand, is simply proving what he knew he was capable of doing.
Predicting the 2020 season for Jones is not an easy task. No one knows exactly how the Packers are going to handle their running back trio.
Despite the difficulty, it would be reasonable to expect Aaron Jones to rack up another 1,050 yards, 13 touchdowns, and around 500 receiving yards and another three or four scores through the air.
If he does reach those numbers, the Packers’ offense is going to be lethal. Jones will prove his worth once again heading into free agency. Hopefully, the Packers are able to bring him back with how important he is to their offensive success.
