Predicting the 2020 NFL season for Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey

There is no doubt that Christian McCaffrey was one of the best and most exciting players to watch in 2019. The Carolina Panthers took a chance selecting a running back at the top of the first round in 2017, but that selection has paid big dividends for the team. McCaffrey’s ability to run the ball and turn into a receiver out of the backfield has made him a nightmare to try and defend.

Add in a new quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater for the 2020 season and there is a lot of excitement around the Panthers this year. Much of the success Carolina has depends on if McCaffrey can continue to perform at a high level this year.

Last season the superstar had 1,387 rushing yards to go along with 15 rushing touchdowns. This kind of productivity would be an incredible season on its own.

The real difference-maker for McCaffrey was his ability to add on 1,005 receiving yards with 4 touchdown catches. Most teams hope that they have a wide receiver who can catch 1,000 yards and a running back that can rush for 1,000 yards in one season. To have one player who did both is truly remarkable.

Which such a great season behind him, is there any way for McCaffrey to build off last year’s success, or is the only place to go down from here?
