1. Dallas Cowboys
There has to be a point where the Dallas Cowboys finally play up to their potential. Dallas has one of the most talented rosters in all of the NFL. They have become like the USC Trojans of the professional level. Every season they come in with very high expectations and never seem to meet them.
This year will be different for the Cowboys. Dallas fired long time coach Jason Garrett, now the burden of coaching “America’s Team” rests on the shoulders of new head coach Mike McCarthy. In Green Bay, McCarthy was a successful coach, only missing the playoffs four times in 13 years.
While Dak Prescott isn’t as talented as prime Aaron Rodgers, the Cowboys’ roster is just as talented as any one of those Packers rosters McCarthy had to work with. The Cowboys have three receivers who could serve as the number one option for many teams. They have one of the best backs in the league, and a dominant offensive line that can open up some running lanes.
On defense, the Cowboys have a very solid edge rusher in DeMarcus Lawrence. Dallas also took a chance on Aldon Smith, who is a dominant force when disciplined enough to stay out of trouble. Smith added a ton of muscle while he was serving his suspension. Dallas has two young stars at linebacker in Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch.
On the interior line is two veterans who are still able to contribute, Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe. Dallas improved their secondary drafting Trevon Diggs in the second=round of the 2020 NFL Draft and signing HaHa Clinton-Dix. There are no excuses for the Cowboys his season.
