Raheem Mostert trade: 5 ideal landing spots for the 49ers RB

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The incredible production that running back Raheem Mostert managed to provide on the NFL’s biggest stage certainly wasn’t to blame.

Coming off a career-year and a tremendous post-season run, Mostert sought to be compensated more fairly in relation to the other backs just on the 49ers’ roster. That led to “months of unproductive talks” and ultimately his agent declaring his client has requested a trade.

The 2019 season was an impressive one for Mostert. Without even being the 49ers’ starting running back, he managed to rack up 772 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 137 carries. He elevated his contributions in the playoffs totaling 336 rushing yards and five rushing scores.

It’s easy to see where Mostert is coming from when considering he’s the best running back on his team, but is set to earn the fourth-most in compensation in 2020. His base salary for 2020 is $2.575 million despite leading all NFL backs in yards per carry (6.1) last season.

With that being said, here are five teams who should consider pursuing a trade for San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert.
