Keys to the Carr
Just a few years ago, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was in contention for MVP, leading the Raiders to a 12-4 record and managing almost 4,000 yards passing with 28 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions.
Since the Raiders’ successful 2016 season, Carr and the Raiders have failed to reach as a winning season. However, it should be noted that Carr was an effective passer in his second season under new head coach Jon Gruden, producing career-high numbers, passing for over 4,000 yards, 21 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, and a 100.8 rating.
It’s reasonable to believe that with the Raiders additions of rookie wide receiver Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards, and the signing of veteran wideout Nelson Agholor, Carr can take another step forward and improve upon his already impressive 2019 campaign.
With the focus of the Raiders offense being on Derek Carr, it’s going to be crucial that he produces early and often against their tough week 1 matchup versus the Carolina Panthers.
