Goff Will Lead The League In INTs
Unfortunately, with more passing attempts comes a higher chance at being picked off. And that will be the case for Goff in 2020. Now we won’t see the 30 interceptions like Winston threw in 2019 to lead the league. Expect it to be more like 2018, when Ben Roethlisberger led the league in interceptions with 16.
Similar to his yards, completions and attempts, Goff has seen an increase in interceptions every year. In 2017, he threw seven, then in 2018 he threw 12 and then 16 last season. Expect Goff to hover right between 16-18 interceptions this season.
The Rams don’t really have a running back that can be used much in the passing game, which means Goff will be throwing down the field more often than he would like to.
Even though Winston is no longer a starting QB, there is still competition for the interception leader title with Baker Mayfield and Philip Rivers still in starting roles, who both finished with more interceptions last season than Goff. But Goff will overtake them in that category and lead the league in interceptions.
