Jared Goff Should Get Back on Track
During the 2018 NFL season, Jared Goff took the entire league by storm, tallying up almost 4,700 yard passing, 32 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions and managed an impressive 101.1 passer rating. The Rams offense in the 2018 season was one of the best in the league and Goff was one of the key reasons for this.
Unfortunately for the Rams and their fans, Goff deteriorated in the 2019 season, only producing an 86.5 passer rating. This is a significant drop in rating and is one of the main reasons why the Rams didn’t clinch a playoff spot last season. Goff’s success has come from a balanced offensive attack.
Meaning, if the Rams running game is potent, Goff appears more comfortable and has the ability to produce at a higher rate. With the loss of Todd Gurley, there are definitely some doubts about the Rams’ backfield.
However, with the addition of rookie running back Cam Akers, the backfield appears to be moving in the right direction. With this in mind, Goff has a legitimate opportunity to get back to where he left off in the 2018 NFL season.
