1. Rams miss the playoffs

Despite a 9-7 record in 2019, the Rams missed the playoffs and finished third in the NFC West. This could be their devastating fate once again in 2020.

The Rams are the third best team in the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are both Super Bowl contenders. That already puts Los Angeles in a tough position. The NFC North has two playoff caliber teams in the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. The NFC East is going to be a two team race between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The other will fight for a wild card berth. That leaves the NFC South where the New Orleans Saints are the favorites, the Tampa Bay Bucs have Tom Brady, and who knows about Carolina or Atlanta.

After looking at the Rams’ schedule, they have a chance to win 10 games. At worst, they should finish 9-7 once again. This would normally put a team in the postseason, but the NFC is going to be incredibly strong in 2020. The playoffs will be expanded this season, adding one more Wild Card spot. This gives the Rams a better chance, but they could fall just short.

In terms of a Wild Card spot, Los Angeles has to be fourth. This would put them behind the second place team in the NFC West, NFC East, and NFC North. The Rams will have a chance to gain an edge on both Philly and Dallas since they meet in the regular season. This is going to be a very entertaining season.
