Rams: Why Cam Newton could make perfect sense for Los Angeles

3. The Presence of Sean McVay

Even though the Rams’ offense did not look anything close to the usual high-powered Sean McVay offense in 2019, he is still one of the elite offensive coaches in the game.

Cam Newton may not be the superstar athlete that he once was. He may not be able to get out in the open field and make plays with his legs like he once did. But, Newton is still a freak athlete with the ability to make plays and extend plays with his legs, which fits what McVay is all about.

McVay and Newton would be an ideal fit for each other. Newton would not be guaranteed the chance to play, but he could earn it. A Rams’ offense with Newton playing in McVay’s system would be potent and fun to watch.
