Next up, the Rams have some trouble potentially brewing at the quarterback position. After receiving a massive payday, Jared Goff took a strong step back last season. Looking ahead to the 2020 season, Goff is on the hot seat a bit.

Cam Newton would be signing on with the Rams to be a backup quarterback to Goff. It would be a one-year deal to protect Newton’s long-term goals of being a starting quarterback once again. On the other hand, if Goff continues struggling, Newton could unseat him as the starter.

Los Angeles would feel stupid for paying Goff so much money to sit on the bench. However, the NFL is a business and it is all about winning. If Goff isn’t getting the job done, McVay could very well turn to Newton to see what the former MVP quarterback has left.
