Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
A lot of focus has been placed on Dak Prescott this offseason given his ongoing pursuit of a contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys. This has led to some diminishing the impact he provides to his team’s offense when discussing his value.
Prescott is coming off a season that featured 4,902 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a 65.1% completion rate. The next step will be for him to produce greater results against winning teams in 2020, but regardless, he was very impressive last season.
The tools are in place around Prescott for him to be able to take another step forward as a player next season. The Cowboys aren’t dealing with the threat of a holdout from Ezekiel Elliott like they did last year and they went from Randall Cobb to CeeDee Lamb using the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys may experience some change in the offensive strategy department after swapping out Jason Garrett with Mike McCarthy as head coach. However, there likely won’t be drastic changes considering Kellen Moore remained in the offensive coordinator role. That continuity could help Dak Prescott, nevertheless.
