Ranking the NFL’s top MVP candidates entering Week 6

Seahawks, Vikings, Russell Wilson

1. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

It’s almost unbelievable that a QB as consistent as Russell Wilson has never received a single MVP vote. Well, that’s changing this year. Wilson will undoubtedly get more than a few MVP votes this year. If the season were to end today, Wilson should receive the majority of the votes. He has been incredible for the Seahawks. Winning football games is the top priority, but it’s clear Wilson has his eyes set on that MVP trophy as well.

Wilson certainly is playing at the top of his game. He has been as clutch as any QB we have ever seen. Wilson is making big plays downfield and is spreading the ball around to his two Ain weapons DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. The Seahawks offense is flowing, and Russell Wilson is the main reason why. Without Wilson this team may be at best a fringe wildcard team. However Wilson is making them true Super Bowl contenders.

Russell Wilson as of right now is the top horse in the MVP race. His lead is slim, but if he continues playing like he has been, the lead will grow. He is leading the NFL in passing touchdowns and is second behind Dak Prescott in passing yards. The Seahawks are currently undefeated after Wilson led yet another game winning drive. So far he is sitting at number 1 in the MVP Power Rankings.
