Ranking the top 3 free agency targets for the Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are gearing up for a crucial offseason after missing the playoffs for the second straight season in 2019. Since making an appearance in the Super Bowl in 2016, the Falcons haven’t been the same team.

This past season, Atlanta finished with a 7-9 record despite starting with a 1-7 record. While missing the playoffs, it was apparent that the weakest link of the team was on the defensive side of the ball.

With head coach Dan Quinn assuming the play-calling duties on defense, the Falcons lacked a pass rush and were porous in coverage. Provided that, Atlanta is unquestionably going to address the defense in free agency and in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Before making any roster moves, Atlanta currently possesses only $4.5 million in cap space, per Spotrac. Therefore, if they do choose to sign free agents, they’ll have to target some of the cheaper options on the market. With that in mind, here are three free-agent targets for the Falcons this offseason.
