Ranking the top 3 free agency targets for the Atlanta Falcons

Mario Addison

Similar to other teams that lack cap space, the Falcons won’t be able to be involved with Jadeveon Clowney. However, Atlanta can still find a formidable edge rusher for a team-friendly price.

If the team isn’t interested in Jefferson, Mario Addison is another viable option in free agency. Addison, who’s been with the Carolina Panthers since 2012, has been extremely consistent in recent seasons.

Over the past five seasons, Addison has averaged nine sacks and a total of eight forced fumbles. Also, the Falcons understand how dominant Addison can be after facing him twice a year in the NFC South.

Another point to realize is that Addison turns 33-years-old this year; hence why he’s a possible bargain candidate in free agency. Pairing Addison with a rookie like K’Lavon Chaisson would give the Falcons a much-needed boost in the pass-rushing department in 2020.
