Ranking the top 3 free agency targets for the Cleveland Browns

The most forgotten aspect of the trade that landed the Browns Beckham, was Cleveland Kevin Zeitler to the Giants. Once Zeitler was traded, the Browns were never able to find a viable replacement at right guard.

Throughout the 2019 season, Cleveland deployed both Wyatt Teller and Eric Kush at right guard. With Kush heading to free agency coupled with the Browns needing to enhance the right guard position, Brandon Scherff should absolutely be on the Browns’ radar.

Before making the presumption that Scherff could sign with Cleveland, it’s important to note that it’s a legitimate possibility that the Washington Redskins use their franchise tag on him. But if he does hit free agency, the Browns should be a team offering him a deal.

In his first five seasons, Scherff has been named to the Pro Bowl three times. With a glaring need at right guard, adding Scherff would give the Browns some assurance on the right side of the offensive line.
