No. 5 — Week 8, 2004 at Denver Broncos

Date: October 31st, 2004

Score: Falcons, 41; Broncos, 28

Just to let the magnitude of this game sink in a bit. Do you know how difficult it is to outdo a quarterback who passes for 499 yards in a single game? Vick found a way to do so during this Week 8 interconference matchup.

Because other games had higher ramifications, this Michael Vick performance ranks among the lower-tier games in his career. But, from a statistical and in-the-moment standpoint, this game is the cream of the crop.

After being sidelined for most of the 2003-04 season, Michael Vick came out with a vengeance. He helped open the season with a 4-0 start, and then, this game opened up yet another streak.

For the game, Vick had one of the great passing displays of his career, hitting on 18 of 24, to go with 252 yards and two touchdowns against a No. 9 ranked Broncos defense. On the ground, he ran for another 115 yards, keeping the Broncos on their toes at all times. It paved the way to one of the great runs in Vick’s career in which individual success and team success coincided with one another.
