Ravens: 3 Reasons Baltimore defeated the Bills in Week 1

No. 3: The new wide receiver corps

A major problem with the Ravens last season was their inability to consistently move the ball on offense. Primarily, Baltimore struggled throwing the ball, due to the lack of weapons on the outside.

This offseason, general manager Ozzie Newsome addressed that issue, drafting two tight ends and signing three veteran wide receivers in free agency.

You can see the difference here:

The three new receivers of Michael Crabtree, John Brown and Willie Snead all made an impact in their first game with the Ravens. Joe Flacco’s three touchdowns were all to the new receivers. Crabtree’s touchdown was possibly the highlight of the game, with an amazing toe tap in the back of the end zone.

Baltimore new additions give them great size, speed and reliable pass catchers on the outside. Flacco now has weapons on the outside he can rely on.

If this game is any indicator of what the Ravens offense could be, they will be a very balanced offense this season.
